BOZEMAN – Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant in Bozeman officially closed its doors for good this past Saturday.

After 17 years, the owners are ready to retire and have sold the building to a new business that has yet to be announced. Other local businesses have been hiring their employees.

The excess food the restaurant has is being donated to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and will be going back to the community.

"A lot of stuff we get like this in bulk donation goes to the Fork and Spoon Community Cafe in town and maybe they’ll be able to do something with it; otherwise, all of our clients will be able to use it," said Kyla Crisp, food rescue coordinator for the Food Bank.

In addition to the food donation, the owners plan to sell the restaurant furniture to the public starting next Friday.
