The Madison County Mental Health Local Advisory Council and the Be The Change 406 Coalition will present the film: WALKING MAN on Tuesday, May 1 at the Madison Theatre in downtown Ennis.

Madison County Commissioner Jim Hart said the event is free and doors open at 6:15 p.m. Seating is limited to 148 people.

The film WALKING MAN is one family’s story of dealing with mental health.

After a Missouri high school loses three students to suicide, Mark Norwine and his son, Eric, embark on a 200-mile walk across the state to raise awareness of mental illness, the co-occurrence of substance abuse and suicide prevention. As the father and son walk, they confront their own mental health issues.

A discussion of Mark Norwine and his wife, Lisa, will immediately follow the film.

The event is sponsored by Amy and Scott Kelley, John Semingson, Madison Theatre, Madison Valley Medical Center, Mary Oliver, Peak Mental Health LLC, and T&E Storage.
