Troopers rescue injured hawk in snow

    Arizona (KGUN/ KWBA) — When Arizona’s Department of Public Safety pulled off to the side of the road in late February, the last thing they expected to find was a raptor.

Per DPS, the injured bird was discovered on State Road 89, south of Ash fork by Trooper Doug Redig on February 22nd, around the time that the Arizona was experiencing heavy snowfall.

DPS agents believe the bird was struck by a passing car, but have not determined the actual cause of the injury. However, the bird was delivered to the Arizona Raptor center in Flagstaff, where it is expected to make a full recovery.
