KALISPELL (KPAX TV) — The cat that was rescued and revived after being encrusted in snow and ice is taking social media by storm.
MTN News talked with the veterinarian who saved Fluffy’s life. We first reported Wednesday night that Fluffy the cat was found injured, and covered in snow.
Bruises on her body, temperature low and vital signs weak, her veterinarian didn’t have much hope. But with the help of warm towels and hair dryers, Fluffy started making a miraculous recovery — and within 45 minutes — was acting normal.
Fluffy’s veterinarian Dr. Jevon Clark tells us in his 24 years of practice, he’s never seen a case like this.
“I was really surprised, I’ve been practicing a long time and I’ve seen a lot of hypothermic animals, but normally it’s like an accidental kind of a thing where the kids leave the door open and the cat or the dog gets out and nobody knows about for a couple of hours and they might get a little cold. Versus this which was kinda a different situation having it actually packed around,” Dr. Clark said.
Dr. Jevon tells us that Fluffy is in good health, and adds that to avoid this happening to your pets, have fresh water and a bed for your pet outside in case they get stuck. That way they’re not on the cold hard ground and can stay hydrated in a pinch.
