St. Petersburg, FL (WFTS) — St. Petersburg Police are still searching for the individuals who broke into a home while the homeowner left to take care of her elderly mother just a few doors down.

“I went to my mom’s house which is about 2 houses from here. I was there maybe 45 minutes helping her,” said Teresa Jordan, homeowner.

Teresa Jordan said someone broke into her home on Tuesday, January 29 around 1:00 p.m. She returned to her house to find the place ransacked.

“Every room, every bedroom was ransacked, all the drawers were pulled out and tossed on the ground,” said Jordan.

The thieves stole a purse, cash, camera, iPad and at least 12 pieces of jewelry which included a ring from Cuba and a Rolex watch. The watch belonged to her father and her son had worn it on his wedding day.

“One of them was a Rolex watch that my dad had and it actually belonged to my son. He was keeping it here. He wore it at his wedding. We have a really nice picture of it,” said Jordan.

She said the jewelry represented family memories.

“They took jewelry from my father who had passed and my grandmother who had passed,” said Jordan.

She said when she returned home, she also found the refrigerator and freezer door open. She said the thieves ate a muffin and left Milky Way wrappers on the ground.

“Oh my gosh, it’s disgusting, it’s disgusting to have someone come and rummage through your fridge and eat your food,” said Jordan.

Jordan is hoping someone recognizes and returns her stolen items.

“They took everything of value I have,” said Jordan.

“Emotionally, priceless. Pricelss, that is my family heritage,” added Jordan.

Police have not caught the person or people who broke into her house.
