Mobile, AL (WALA) — A local woman learned the hard way not to leave her purse in the car. But the thieves who stole it — may also learn a lesson after being “Caught In The Act.”

Given the opportunity, they’ll usually take it. That was the case last Thursday outside Ms. Lisa’s Gym on East I-65 Service Road.

Mobile released surveillance images, which show the passenger of a gray/silver Nissan SUV getting out and breaking the driver’s side window of the surburban parked next to it. The suspect stole the victim’s purse that was left inside.

They wasted no time in trying to run up the victim’s credit cards. Investigators say within five minutes a middle-aged woman walked into the Dollar General Store on Old Shell Road and went to town.

While she may have looked unsuspecting — police say she used the victim’s credit card. It’s still unclear what she purchased, but according to investigators she charged around $600 worth of merchandise.

Maybe you can help turn the table on these two — if the gray Nissan or the woman looks familiar — Mobile Police would love to hear from you at 208-7211 — callers can remain anonymous.
