MISSOULA (KPAX TV) — Anyone who walked into nearly any grocery store in the last few weeks definitely passed someone ringing a bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Monday marked the last day of the campaign, which raises money to bring dinners to those that might otherwise be forgotten this time of year

For some, donating is so much more than just tossing change into a bucket or spending time as a volunteer.

David Molaris of Missoula told MTN News that he was happy to be giving back to an organization that helped him when he needed them most.

“When I first moved here in ’12, I was looking for work and the Salvation Army was almost the only organization that hired me. Now, I don’t need the work anymore. And when they need me, I’m always here for them.

David says he volunteered for five weeks to help the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. The Salvation Army reports that they help more than 4.5 million people across the country during the holidays.
