Pleasant View, TN (WTVF) — It’s no coincidence that the Shelton children wanted this Christmas tree behind them as they talked about their father, Joe.

“He loved the holidays, he loved Christmas,” his son Zach Shelton said. “He wanted us to be together and enjoy time together.”

Joe Shelton was killed this week when police say someone likely threw a chunk of concrete off the Shelby Street bridge, hitting Joe as he was driving to work on the interstate underneath. Police still haven’t made an arrest in the case.

“We want justice for him,” Zach said.

Even through such loss, on Friday Joe’s family was laughing through their memories with him.

“He’d do anything to make you laugh,” His wife Kim Shelton said. “He loved to sing! The good Lord didn’t bless him with a voice, but…” Kim said, as the whole family started laughing.

The family asked for whoever threw the concrete to come forward.
