St. Louis Dollar General clerk shot, killed during armed robbery

    ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOV) — Police in North St. Louis are investigating a deadly shooting at a Dollar General store.

According to police, the shooting took place near Grand and Kossuth, near Fairground Park, at a Dollar General. The suspect entered the store with a firearm began shooting, police say.

Police say the victim, a male around 40-years-old, was found unconscious and not breathing. He was a clerk at the store.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene, where they later pronounced the victim deceased.

The suspect remains unknown and on the loose. Police say the suspect did not take anything from the store and left shortly after firing shots that ended up striking the victim.

Police describe the suspect as a male, medium-build wearing a red baseball cap and sunglasses.

The investigation is on-going.
