Milwaukee, WI (WTMJ) — Milwaukee Police are looking for a suspect who stole from a business during a fundraiser held in honor of the fallen officer Michael Michalski.

It happened Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Police said Monday the suspect entered the business through an open door and pried open a locked office to take hundreds of dollars in cash and barter money.

The owner of Sobelman’s, the establishment where the burglary happened, told TODAY’S TMJ4 the money taken was not part of the fundraiser for Officer Michalski.

“Everybody’s angry. You’re instantly angry when you’re robbed or something’s been taken from you or your friends, and to know it happened on this day of all days everybody is pretty upset,” said Dave Sobelman.

The suspect is a black male, 6’00, 200 pounds, last seen wearing a brown baseball cap with a yellow logo on the visor, a red t-shirt, white shorts, and black shoes with white soles.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime to call 414-935-7360.

There is a GoFundMe Page set up in Officer Michalski’s honor.
