Woman dies in snowmobile crash on Mullan Pass

HELENA - A 34-year-old woman died in a snowmobile crash on Saturday seven miles up Mullan Pass and along the borders of Lewis & Clark and Powell counties.

Lewis and Clark County Coroner Bryan Backeberg has identified the victim as Laura Park of the Helena area.  According to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m.

Park hit a tree while driving a snowmobile and suffered blunt force trauma to her head and torso area. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Lewis and Clark County Search and Rescue, the Sheriff's Office, the Montana Highway Patrol, REACH Air Medical Services, and volunteer fire departments all responded.
