Belgrade sets record for number of housing permits in 2016

Posted: Updated:

The city of Belgrade set a record for the number of housing permits issued.

The city issued 143 single-family housing permits in 2017.

This breaks the old record set in 2016 of 124 housing permits issued by the city.

City planners say this is great news for Belgrade’s economy, which could use commercial growth.

More permits are being issued as a result, of recent population growth throughout the Gallatin Valley.

“The subdivisions were popular. They sold well and the built well. It’s related to the growth of the valley tied to Bozeman and MSU and everything,” said Jason Karp Director of Planning for Belgrade.

Planners say that the population of Belgrade is approaching 9,000.
