Crews working to clear Bozeman streets after storm

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - With all the snow that fell over the weekend, the City of Bozeman is having a tough time keeping roads clear.

“The snow fell hard, then warmed up, then froze again - so there is a layer of ice underneath the snowpack,” said John VanDelinder, Street Superintendent with the City of Bozeman.

“So we were fighting traffic, we had the football game, so we worked around that. And the same thing we always run into every year which is people with their equipment and their trailers, and their RV's parked on the street. So we have to work around those and what ends up having to do is carry the snow around those and we'll have to dump it in front of your neighbor’s driveway.”

The city is planning on having the streets cleaned up within 7 days from today. Officials want to remind the public if you’re behind a snowplow, leave at least 50 feet of distance between you and the plow.
