BILLINGS - A man on probation for sexual assault in Missoula was charged Monday in Billings with attempting to rape a teenage girl.
Mark William McGuire, 44, made his initial appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Monday on one count of attempted sexual intercourse without consent.
McGuire is currently on probation for sexual assault and criminal endangerment convictions in Missoula County.
Billings police received a report Friday of a sexual assault in town.
Officers spoke with the parents of the victim, who reported that their daughter had locked herself in her room and was distraught because of some incident that had taken place.
The victim told officers that she had been babysitting that night and encountered McGuire when she walked outside.
The girl said McGuire was very intoxicated and began moving closer to her.
The girl told McGuire to stop, she said, but he touched her breasts and put his hands down her pants.
After the girl pushed McGuire off her, he stumbled across the yard and vomited.
The girl contacted her mother, who called police.
Officers made contact with McGuire, who denied touching the victim.
McGuire did reportedly say during the interview, “I want this 15-year-old kid. I want her to get emancipated.”
He’s being held at the Yellowstone County jail without bond.
