BOZEMAN - A man accused of starting a haystack on fire behind Walmart in Bozeman was seen in Gallatin County Justice Court Monday morning.

Blake Oren Robinson, a transient, 33, was charged with arson, a felony and faces $30,000 bail.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, Bozeman Fire Department responded to a fire in a field east of Walmart. The fire was burning in a haystack.

According to charging documents, Robinson was identified as a suspect in video surveillance on Oct. 27, by a store employee. Robinson reportedly was captured on video starting the fire, watching it for a short period of time and then entering the store, where he allegedly bought two alcoholic beverages and stole two items, one being a meat tray. Robinson had been banned from the store on Oct. 8, 2017, and another Walmart in another state at a prior date. He had been arrested behind the haystack at that time.

The owner of the haystack valued the hay at approximately $5,000. The owner also wanted Robinson trespassed from his property. Robinson was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.
