BIG SKY - Skiers will have one last chance to buy a season pass to Big Sky Resort Nov. 4, which will give them access to new runs, new lifts and new improvements at the Bozeman area spot, resort officials said Wednesday.

Resort officials said they are kicking off season pass printing at MAP Brewing in Bozeman 2-6 p.m. Nov. 4, where skiers can buy the Montana Pass. The deadline had originally been at the end of September, but the resort wanted to sell them at this event, according to a news release.

Opening day is Nov. 23, Thanksgiving day.

Big Sky has added three new gladed runs: OxBow, parallel to Swift Current Chairlift; PB&J, accessible from the North Summit Snowfield; and Wild Bill, off Horseshoe. Big Sky also doubled the width of Fast Lane, the main arterial from the Madison Base area back to Mountain Village.

The resort also installed four new carpet lifts this year. Three are at the Mountain Village base area, and one is at Madison Base area.

A new double chairlift will also launch this season, servicing guests in the real estate area. Big Sky now has 36 total lifts.

Additional improvements include a renovation of the Big Sky Sports Demo Center and added rental delivery services.

October storms dropped two feet of snow at mid-mountain and three feet at alpine levels, and Lolo Peak has been covered with snow for more than a month, Big Sky officials stated. September produced 20 to 24 inches of snow, and a base is forming on 5,800 acres of skiable terrain and 300 named runs, according to the resort.
