Bozeman schools aim to bring STEM into all classrooms

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - In an effort to get STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into all the Bozeman classrooms early, "Project Lead the Way" has been selected as the curriculum to attract more girls and minorities into the tech fields.

Dr. Rob Watson, Supt. of Bozeman Schools and Anne Hossner, Bozeman Schools Foundation, joined the Montana This Morning crew to discuss the program, already in place in Billings and Missoula. The start-up costs for the program were out of reach for the school district, so they've partnered with The Bozeman Schools Foundation to raise money for the teacher training and supplies. The district will be able to cover the costs in the future for maintaining the program.

The foundation has raised almost all the money needed - they still need to raise about $70,000 more.
