Old Rainbow Motel is getting quite the facelift

Posted: Updated:

The rooms at what used to be the Rainbow Motel may be empty now, but they won't be staying that way for long.

Hilary Folkvord is the owner and managing the project. Monday, pictures were released of what the vision once the renovations are complete will be.

"So, it will be mid-century modern with great architecture and a Montana feel as well," said Folkvord.

"You know we are really growing with the community and the community is growing where we have a lot of outside influence moving in and we think they want these eateries and boutiques that they can send their guests. We also think there is a market for Millennials traveling and want a unique experience and that's what we want to bring to them."

The new motel which will be called the RSVP is right in the middle of the Midtown Development.

" Midtown Bozeman is going to be the new place to be," she said. "It's right off the interstate and it's really easy to park and get around. "

The outdoor pool will be staying on site to accommodate guests staying in any of the 41 rooms, but a cafe will be added along with an events center.

"It's going to be a lot of great organic salads, wraps, a lot of that great health food trends we want to bring that to Bozeman," said Folkvord. "I think meeting space is also an interesting time for us, where people are also looking for a group of 50 in a unique environment instead of a standard board room that we have all been too."

The renovations are set to be completed in March of 2018.

The Folkvord family, which also owns Wheat Montana, has taken on other hotel renovations projects as well.

They did the remodel for the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks and The Super 8 in Dillon.
