MISSOULA - Authorities have released the names of the two people whose bodies were found in the basement of a Strand Avenue home in August.
Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott identified the victims as Missoula residents Marilyn Pickett, 15, and Jackson Wiles, 24.
The bodies had been placed into plastic tubs filled with chemicals with an initial investigation indicating that Pickett and Wiles died from stab wounds.
Their bodies were found on Aug. 17 when police arrived at the home with a search warrant in connection with a reported "home invasion burglary/stabbing” that occurred on July 23.
Two suspects, identified as Tiffanie Pierce, 23, and Augustus Standingrock, 26, were taken into custody in connection with the murders.
"This was an extremely difficult call for everyone involved and as a department our hearts are broken for those affected, especially the families of Jackson and Marilyn. Please keep them in your thoughts as they try to find healing," the sheriff's office said in a statement issued on Monday.
