American Legion Post 14 to host Patriot's Day honorary event

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - The American Legion Post 14 is hosting a Patriot's Day honorary event to remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, and to honor local first responders here in Bozeman.

The event will kick off with a moment of silence to remember those lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Afterwards, donuts and coffee will be served, and you can hear from and meet with some of the local Bozeman first responders.

The sheriff, police chief and fire chief will all be speaking at the event, and a 21 gun salute will take place.

Post Commander Len Albright hopes that most of all, the event will show appreciation for those who serve and protect.

"They're here for us every single day, and every single minute of every day, and they're always on our backside protecting us," Albright said.

"We want to make sure that we bring out the fact that they are part of our community every day, and we want to thank them for their hard work that they do all the time," he said.

The moment of silence will happen at 9:03 a.m., so it is best to arrive early. The event will take place in front of the American Legion Post 14, located at 225 E. Main St.
