SEELEY LAKE - Weeks of wondering and worrying are finally coming to an end for many Seeley Lake residents.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office has announced that the evacuation orders issued because of the Rice Ridge fire have been dropped to evacuation warnings, meaning that folks can return to their homes,
The decision puts almost all Seeley Lake residents back into their homes. There are now just six homes that remain under a mandatory evacuation order.
"We want to thank residents for their cooperation and understanding during the last few months," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement issued Sunday morning.
Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect for Powell County residents living east of the now 132,700 acre blaze.
