PHILIPSBURG -

The Meyers fire 25 miles outside of Philipsburg has now burned over 13,700 acres.

Evacuations are still in place for residents in the Frog Basin Pond, Copper Creek Campground and Moose Lake areas.

Copper Creek Road #80 remains closed at the junction with Moose Lake Road and the Copper Creek Campground is closed. The Ross Fork Road #70 remains open to local traffic only.

Fire managers say the blaze was relatively calm Saturday, but the potential for large fire growth remains high due to the presence of thick dry vegetation between the fire edge and the primary control lines.

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect at the Meyers fire until 9 p.m. on Sunday.

There are 561 people assigned to battle the lightning sparked blaze.
