Meet Jigabug: Montana's first therapy miniature horse

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

You may have heard of therapy dogs, but what about a therapy horse?

Well, Bozeman has its very own therapy miniature horse that hopes to bring people happiness every where she goes.

“There was no one to evaluate me because there were no other horses, but I found a woman in billings that does dogs and she was more than happy to do it.” said Jigabug's owner, Barbara Prowse.

The miniature horse passed her service animal test with flying colors and now she's allowed in places like nursing homes and therapy centers.

“ Jigabug can go in a complex rating which is pretty much any environment. She doesn't spook from people yelling or loud noises.”

Prowse says that she believes animals can help all people and that’s exactly what she and Jigabug plan to do.

“It’s just nice to see people, they love the pony, its just nice to cheer people up.”

You can meet Jigabug for yourself, she hangs out at the Bozeman public library on Fridays from 12-1.
