Photographing The Northern Lights Isn't Difficult

Posted: Updated:

First, you need to dress for the occasion to be out in the middle of the night with warm clothes.

The temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s through the overnight with mostly clear skies.  The Aurora will start Between Midnight and 1 am tonight and will last until sunrise.

Second, have your camera gear fully charged and the correct settings on your camera or video camera.  Make sure you have a tripod when you leave your house.

Third, pick an area that is away from the city lights.  The darker the area you are in, the better the quality of the Aurora's will be for the best pictures or videos.
