It's worth mentioning some common sense tips with our first heat wave of summer. First, slow down do not over exert yourself especially during the hottest hours of the afternoon to early evening. Dress is loose light colored clothing, do not over eat as that will increase your body temperature, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid long periods in the hot sunshine. If possible take numerous breaks if working or playing outdoors and seek shaded areas and try and find air conditioned places. Don't forget your pets as they will suffer from extreme heat as well and please keep them off the scolding hot pavement.

The Montana Folk Festival this weekend in Butte will coincide with the peak of the heat wave. So be prepared for the heat if you plan on spending hours watching and enjoying the music venues.
