Posted: Updated:

One woman is dead after a multi-vehicle crash near Marion just before 3 p.m. on Friday.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Josh Nanna said one woman was driving a car that crossed over the centerline on Highway 2 and crashed head-on into a dump truck.

She died from the collision.

The driver of the truck was reportedly not seriously injured.

According to Nanna, the crash happened at the intersection of Gopher Lane and U.S. Highway 2 West.

There was a third vehicle involved in the incident that was driving behind the woman's vehicle.

Nanna did not have any information about the extent of the injuries of those inside that vehicle.

He said initial reports indicate alcohol, drugs and speed were not likely factors in this accident.

Officials are not releasing the name of the woman involved and are working to clarify her age and hometown.
