Obituary: Yvonne May Lloyd (Murray)

Posted: Updated:

Yvonne May passed away May 12, 2017, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.  She was 80 years old.

Yvonne was born July 4, 1936, in Bozeman, Montana, to Kathleen (Spring) and Harold Button.  She was joined by her sister, Darlene Kay, in 1937.

Yvonne married Frank D. Murray in 1953. They divorced five years later, and Yvonne later moved to Ogden, Utah, to attend and graduate from Steven Henniger Business College.

She moved back to Bozeman and went to work at Montana State University’s Math Data Processing Department and Business Office, retiring in 1993.

In 1980, Yvonne married Farrell Lloyd and lived in Park County on their ranch raising cattle and horses.  Yvonne loved ranch life, the animals, the many family gatherings, friends that came to visit and help with branding, riding horses and, of course, the rounding up of cattle. Farrell passed away in 2012 and Yvonne moved back to Bozeman to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene; mother; father; and husband.

Survivors include sons, James (Debe) Murray, Rick (Billie Jo) Murray; granddaughters, Samantha (Doug) Robinson and Maryanne Murray.  She also leaves three nieces, Debbie, Sherry, Tammy and their children, her step-children, Sherry (John) Chambers, Lana (Gene) Sandman both of Utah and Farrell (Robin) Lloyd of Minnesota and their children, Heidi, Tammy, Jodi, Angie, Chelsea, Whitney and Trent.  She also leaves behind two step-siblings, Georgia Monforton and Denny Wheat.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations In Yvonne’s name to Bozeman Health Foundation (memo line: Hospice), 931 Highland Blvd. #3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.  A special thank you to the Hospice team.

Cremation has taken place – her ashes will be spread at the ranch alongside her husband.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  www.dokkennelson.com
