Posted: Updated:

Joyce Lindberg, 83, passed away on May 9, 2017, at the Gallatin Rest Home in Bozeman, MT.  A memorial service will be held at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service, 113 S. Willson Ave. on Thursday, May 18th at 11:00 a.m.  The reception will follow at the Grace Bible Church at 3625 S. 19th Ave.

Joyce was born in 1934 on a small farm near Gordon, WI.  She was proud to say she was delivered by her Dad due to a severe snow storm.  Growing up, she loved to read and spend time with her friends, but tolerated school and her farm chores.  Her bright, optimistic and outgoing nature led her into jobs working with people.  As a grocery checker for over 25 years and a Senior Companion for 15 years, she regularly offered friendship and good cheer to everyone she met.

Equally important to her were the eight children of her two marriages, which gave her the opportunity to nurture their outlooks on life through the inspirational literature she loved, as well as have a lot of fun playing card games.  She enjoyed movies, cross word puzzles, knitting and crocheting to fill in the time between what she loved most … spending time with her children, brother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Glenn) VanDyke of Bozeman; son, Tom (Margaret) Krushensky of Denver; brother, Albert (Bud) Basler of Butte; three grandchildren, Dan VanDyke, Jeff VanDyke and Wendy Halverson; and ten great-grandchildren.  She has five children from her second marriage, Kitty Nattson, Billy Lindberg, Joan Fisher, Judy McLendon and Jimmy Lindberg, with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Krushensky; second husband, Bill Lindberg; daughter, Susie Lindberg; and her four sisters, Ardy Raismussen, Lila Furuholmen, Mary Lindberg and Judy Harty.

Memorial donations may be made in Joyce’s name to the Bozeman Health Foundation (memo line: Hospice), 931 Highland Blvd #3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
