Obituary: Peter Andrew Rothing

Posted: Updated:

Peter Andrew Rothing went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 17, 2017, in his Belgrade, Montana, home. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 31, 1955. In his early 20’s he ventured west to pursue and ultimately achieve his dream of being an outfitter and true Montana cowboy. He and his wife built and established Diamond R Enterprises where they have raised and sold purebred Labrador retrievers, horses, and cattle for more than 30 years.

Pete’s true passion in life was raising and training horses but also spent many years of his life in the mountains hunting and exploring. As an avid proponent of our constitutional rights and the common law, Pete used his knowledge of those rights to help anyone he could. Above all, he loved and raised his family by the “Code of the West” and sought to honor God through those values.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Rothing and brother, Dick Rothing. He is survived by his mother, Carita C. Rothing; wife, Tanya Howells Rothing; sons, Q Rothing, Tyrel Rothing, and Tell Rothing; daughter, Carita “Sis” Rothing; daughters-in-law, Emily Uhl Rothing, Kelsey Tilley Rothing; as well as five brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 186 Garden Dr., Bozeman, on Friday, March 24 at 2 p.m. to honor Pete, his family, and all he accomplished in this world. Condolences can be sent to 3040 Amsterdam Rd., Belgrade, MT 59714. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pete’s name to the NRA as he and his family are firm supporters of the Second Amendment.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  www.dokkennelson.com
