Obituary: William Edward "Bill" Bryan

William Edward “Bill” Bryan went to be with his Lord and Savior February 9, 2017.  Bill was born in Bozeman, MT, on April 11, 1933, to Hayes and Anna Bryan. 

He graduated from Belgrade High School and Montana State College.  Bill entered Officer Candidate School for the United States Navy in August 1955 and was commissioned the rank of Ensign in March 1956.  Upon completion of active duty, he served in the United States Naval Reserves from 1959 to 1983, retiring at the rank of Commander.

Bill was a talented musician and excelled at playing multiple instruments including the steel guitar, guitar, bass and fiddle.  He enjoyed horses and was an accomplished horseman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayes and Anna Bryan, and older brother, Glenn E. Bryan Sr.  Surviving are his younger brother, Hayes R. Bryan of Anacortes, WA, and his two sons, Gene (Norma) Bryan and Bob Bryan, both of Bozeman.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, February 17th at 10 a.m. at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Bill’s name to Compasses Hospice, 301 Edelweiss Dr. #6, Bozeman, MT 59718 or Gateway Home Fellowship, Blessing Fund, P.O. Box 209, Gallatin Gateway, MT 59730.
