Obituary: Rosalie Ransdell

Rosalie Ransdell died February 23, 2017, at Brookdale Springmeadows in Bozeman, Montana; she was 89 years old.

She was born Rosalie E. Nissen on June 13, 1927, on her father’s farm on the Mirage Flats in western Nebraska.  She graduated from Hay Springs High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She married Merrill G. Ransdell on June 12, 1949.  The family moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1962.  Rosalie worked as media librarian for Bozeman Public Schools until her retirement in 1990.  She then moved to Great Falls, Montana, to be near her daughter and granddaughter.  She was a dedicated and beloved member of the Montana Living Church of God congregations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1975, and a grandson, Benjamin Merrill Miklush. She is survived by her son, Tod Ransdell of Mercer Island, WA; daughter, Hilary Ransdell Lewin of Great Falls, MT; daughter, Lisa Miklush, of Bozeman, MT; and granddaughter, Sara Hemenway, and great-grandson, Damon, of Missoula, MT.

Cremation has taken place.  Interment will follow at a date to be determined.

    A small fire was quickly knocked down Tuesday afternoon at the US Post Office on Baxter Lane in Bozeman. The fire in a storage room was reportedly sparked by a small lawn tractor used for snow removal.
