Michael B. Phillips, 67, of Bozeman passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Michael was born January 1, 1949, in Bozeman to Marvin James and Annabelle (Collier) Phillips. He attended Longfellow School, Bozeman Jr. High, and Bozeman High School before graduating from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
His first job as a Civil Engineer took him to Anaheim, California. He took a position in Japan five about five years before his employment for AMKOR A&E, Inc. in South Korea. He started there as an engineer and was promoted to Department Supervisor, retiring in 2014 after 29 years. Following his retirement, he returned to Bozeman.
Michael was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed loading his own ammunition. After retirement, he was able to participate in cowboy shoots in Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson Counties.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Deborah Phillips of Bozeman, and brother, William Phillips of Helena, MT.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, PO Box 6044, Bozeman, MT 59771.
