BOZEMAN -

A convicted sex offender pleaded guilty Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, to violating the terms of his suspended sentence.

Joseph Donald Pippin, 59, served eight years in the Oregon Department of Corrections for forcing a 5-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him in 1984.

In 2009 he was given a suspended sentence of 20 years in the Montana State Prison for sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl.

As part of his terms of release, he was not allowed to “possess or [sic] use pornography in any form, including magazines, books, videos, or the Internet.”

In October 2015 two probation officers searched Pippin’s laptop and two smartphones.

They found web searches for child pornography, videos and photos of partially clothed young girls in sexual poses.

He was charged with two felony counts of sexual abuse of children.

Pippin has been in custody since October 2015.

Gallatin County Attorney Marty Lambert recommends 45 years in prison with ten years suspended.

He is scheduled for sentencing on February 2.
