Excel Physical Therapy Running Class

Posted: Updated:

Running should be simple, it's one of the first things you learn to do. But actually there are proper ways to do it and most of us are doing it wrong. That's why Excel Physical Therapy in Bozeman is holding a running camp outreach project Saturday to educate both the seasoned and novice runner on how they can prevent running injuries.

"You would think that running would just be putting on your running shoes and stepping out the door. But the majority of running injuries are due to training errors. So we're talking a lot today about how to prevent those training errors. How to train properly so that those training principals don't contribute to to running injuries. So some of the common mistakes we see are over-striding which can be corrected with a few simple drills and techniques that we can teach people. Hip strength can contribute to running injuries. And then other mechanical things in the lower extremities can help contribute to running injuries as well," said Excel Physical Therapist Megan Peach.
