Obituary: Letha Darlene Chapman

The Lord took an angel home to Heaven on October 14, 2015 – Letha Darlene Chapman passed away from complications of ALS.  Letha was born on April 10, 1938 in Bozeman, Montana to Hugo and Fern Martin.  She attended Bozeman schools where she met her husband of 56 years, Buddy Walter Chapman.  Through this bond, they had four children:  Kimberly Darlene (deceased), Melody, Bret and Tay.

Letha created lifetime friendships with her cherished customers at the 4 B’s restaurant, where she held down station #1 for 17 years.  After leaving the 4 B’s she worked for the MSU Postal Service for around 9 years where she continued a legacy of friendship and kindness.  In her retirement she loved spending her time golfing, bowling, traveling with many of her dear friends and focused on spoiling her family. 

Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Walter Chapman; her daughter, Kimberly Darlene ; and her elder brother, Ivan Martin.  Letha is survived by her three children and their spouses, Melody and Doug Kurk, Bret and Kari Chapman and Tay and Kelli Chapman; her 11 grandchildren, Tana, Sage, Jack, Bradi, Keith, Bryce, Andrea, Lauren, McCall, Balue, Kaylen; her 8 great-grandchildren, Jori, Calli, Tel, Megan, McKenna, Mariah, Jada and Jacob; her brother, Delbert Martin; and her sister, Erline Yerian; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Letha was a beautiful light in so many lives and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 22 at 2 P.M. at Hope Lutheran Church.
