UPDATE: 10/14/15, 12:20 P.M. -

According to Bozeman Police and FWP, the bear was not caught, but ushered into a field north of the high school. It has not been seen since.

The bear entered the school through an open garage door from the football field to the east side of the high school

Bozeman Police arrived on scene and students were told to go into classrooms, which most did. Officials then opened hallway doors to outside and herded the bear out of the east side of the building.

School officials say the entire incident took place within 2 or 3 minutes and the bear was quick and skittish.

Officials say students were curious more than anything. They add that they didn't feel like bear was agitated but more curious.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks was called to Bozeman High School this morning on a report of bear inside the school. The bear was chased outside, but bear’s status is unknown at this time. Bozeman Police chased it out of school and its whereabouts are unknown at this time, but it is not on campus.

FWP will will hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. to release more information.

School officials say there is no threat to students at this time.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
