Obituary: Ruben David Schott

Ruben David Schott, 79, born September 3, 1936, in McLaughlin, South Dakota, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at home on the Bozeman pass with family and friends by his side.  He grew up on the family farm outside of McLaughlin.  On September 1, 1963, he married Agnes, raised six kids and continued to be very involved in his grandchildren’s lives.

He was passionate about his family and work.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren whether it was camping in his younger years or attending kid’s activities throughout his lifetime. 

Ruben was a dedicated and hard worker.  He had many jobs throughout his life, but his true love was farming and ranching. 

Ruben is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Scott) Townsend and Stacy (Mark) VanTighem; sons, Doug (Shawna), Ron (Eva), Wade, and Randy (Megan); sisters, Gladys, Eileen and DiAnn; brothers, Arnold, Donald, Jim and Wallace; seventeen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jacob and Lydia (Moser) Schott; and brothers, Russell and Reinhold.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.
