Enda Bowman can’t help it — she’s the life of the party at the Copper City Bridge Club.

"Oh my gosh, she is just so funny," club leader Cookie Johnson said, "she’s so smart, she’s just so sharp for her age.”

That age is 96 years, and yet she does things the rest of us only wish we could do at 26. Not only is she the funniest person you'll meet, she plays an incredibly complex game, and is darn good at it, too.

"There are a lot of widows around," she said, "and if we didn’t play bridge we’d probably be chasing, so I guess it’s the best thing and it sharpens your mind, there’s a lot of friends that are a support group, it’s just wonderful all the way around.”

Enda’s been playing the game for more than 60 years. For her the weekly meetings mean a whole lot more than just number crunching and wins. With every joke she makes, she’s taking a drink out of her own personal fountain of youth.

"March 16," she says of her birthday, "if I make it. And if I don’t I won’t care because I’ve had a wonderful, marvelous life. In fact, I’m afraid that I’ll go to hell because I’ve had my heaven here on Earth."
