Yellowstone National Park is hosting an event at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to launch the new quarter featuring the Old Faithful Geyser and a bison.
The event is to be held in front of the Old Faithful Inn if the weather is nice; and in the Old Faithful Lodge Rec Hall if the weather doesn't cooperate. Superintendent Suzanne Lewis, U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy, historian and author Paul Schullery and Gene Bryan of the Wyoming Tourism Board will be on hand to make remarks.
After the ceremony, children at the event will be able to get a free Yellowstone quarter. Adults and collectors will have the opportunity to exchange paper currency for rolls of the new, uncirculated quarters on site.
Yellowstone is hoping that a large crowd will turn out for the event.
