SIDNEY - Richland County authorities have asked for assistance from the Montana Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation as they look into the disappearance of Lana Swensrud.
Swensrud, 55, was reported missing by family members on July 8th.
She was last seen on the evening of July 6th about 15 miles southeast of Sidney, east of Highway 261.
On July 9th, Richland County law enforcement officers found a woman's body in the vicinity of where Swensrud was last seen.
Richland County officers and DCI agents are currently at the scene where the body was found.
A press release from the MT Department of Justice says that further investigation is necessary before determining the cause of death, and if the body is that of Swensrud.
