BOZEMAN - One of three women accused of promoting prostitution in Belgrade pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of prostitution as part of a plea agreement.
Yu-Sun Gasperi, 52, appeared in court Wednesday and was sentenced to six months in jail with all time suspended and ordered to pay a fine of $575.
In exchange for her plea, prosecutors dropped the felony charge of promoting prostitution.
Gasperi and two others, Jihong Yu, 51 and Ok Nan Tenette, 70, were arrested in July after a confidential informant went into two Belgrade spas and was reportedly offered sexual favors in exchange for money.
The case involved the Beijing Spa and VIP Spa on South Broadway in Belgrade. Since the three women were arrested, the massage parlors have been closed. Court documents indicate the women were living at the businesses as well.
Neighbors told us they became suspicious when they started seeing only men going in and out of the spas.
According to police records, Yu was reportedly the proprietor of the Beijing Spa. During a search at that spa at 309 South Broadway, police found used condoms made of cellophane food wrap in the outside garbage.
Deputy County Attorney Eric Kitzmiller said plea agreements are also in the works for Yu and Tenette.
