Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard with your Thursday Evening STORMTracker forecast.

Wintry weather settling back in tonight into Friday morning as a colder northerly flow builds in and an upper level disturbance over Wyoming spins up some moisture. Both will lead to scattered snow flurries, locally 1"-4" and most of the snow bands will be east of the divide. With that said, travelers need to be prepared for wintry travel conditions tonight into Friday morning.

Off to our west is a large high pressure ridge which will move into MT beginning Friday evening and strengthening Saturday and Sunday. This should produce a dry and mild weather pattern this weekend. Temperatures will be cold Saturday morning but quickly warm up Saturday afternoon. Sunday's lows and highs should be warmer than Saturday with highs reaching the lower to mid 50's and lows in the 20's.

Next week several weak pacific systems will swing through producing slightly cooler temperatures and bring off and on showers or flurries to the region beginning as early as Monday and continuing into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Take a look at the 7 day forecast on our home page for forecast highs and lows through next week.
