Morning Meteorologist Adam Bell with your Morning Updated E-CAST for Thursday, March 11, 2010
It's a chilly morning this morning, but don't worry, if you want warmer weather, I have it for you! Low temperatures were in the single digits for many, both west and east of the divide this morning, but we will be warming up nicely this afternoon thanks to mostly sunny skies!
The sunshine today is all thanks to high pressure trying to gain control of our weather, also giving us a southerly flow, bringing highs above seasonal levels, at least for today and Friday, before the storm system currently impacting western Oregon and Washington moves into our area for the weekend. Temperatures will take a slight cool down during the weekend, along with a chance for some showers/flurries Saturday into Sunday.
As we stretch into the 7-day forecast, the computers are pointing in two different directions. One model suggests a sunny warm up, where some areas could see 60's for high temperatures by mid-week next week, while other guidance suggests cooler weather only into the upper 40's. Being Mr. Conservative, I'm going with a mix, at the moment, but of course as we get closer, we will have a better idea of what exactly we can expect. Tune in tonight with Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard who will break down that 7-day for you, including a peek at how your St. Patrick's day might pan out. See you then!
