A Kalispell lawmaker is sponsoring a bill to allow legislators with concealed weapon permits to carry their guns into the State Capitol.

Montana law prohibits concealed weapons in federal, state and local government buildings. Republican representative Verdell Jackson's bill is still in the drafting process.

Republican leadership is thinking about adding one police officer to Capitol security staff.
