A Polson teenager tased during an arrest in Kalispell is accused of causing a possible concussion to a police officer.
Dawson Baer, 18, is facing a felony charge of assault on a peace officer.
Kalispell Police Officers received a call about a male lying in the road near Smith's grocery store around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found Baer sitting near the entrance of the store. Baer reportedly became uncooperative, and when officers began to handcuff him, he resisted.
Two attempts to use a stun gun on him were unsuccessful.
An unidentified officer is on leave for injuries sustained after Baer allegedly head butted or caused the officer to hit his head on the ground.
Kalispell Police Department Detective Scott Warnell said it was a unique incident.
"Most 18-year-old kids don't fight with officers," Warnell said. "We've not really had any incidents with this individual before. It was strange he fought the way he did."
Warnell said the stun gun's failure might have been if Baer was drunk or on drugs.
