Two snowmobilers were found after being reported overdue by a friend over the weekend.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue responded to the Fairy Lake area in search of two overdue snowmobilers at about 7:49 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

The two male snowmobilers were expected to return at about 7 p.m., but had not. A friend went to look for the two men and found their vehicle parked on Fairly Lake Road, but there was no sign of them.

A rescue was launched because of the snowfall, darkness, and the temperatures in the 20s.

Search and Rescue members on snowmobiles followed tracks to the Fairy Lake area where they found the two snowmobilers. When it got dark the two males decided to remain where they were because they were unfamiliar with the area. They took shelter in the restroom at Fairly Lake. Searchers found them and escorted them back to their vehicle.
