It's time to build in Southwest Montana. That's the message from the National Affordable Housing Network.

Barbara Miller, President of the National Affordable Housing Network, says the organization is launching a region-wide construction effort to provide new home ownership opportunities in Butte, Boulder, Dillon and Whitehall.

Miller says they hope to build 50 homes between the four communities in the next 18 months. She adds that all this building will bring construction jobs to the towns and some much-needed housing during a time when then interest rates offered by banks are extremely high.

"Southwest Montana needs clean housing for young families. Families that want to raise children here and we also need more energy efficient homes ‘cause we're in a very cold climate. It's just time to keep investing in our community," Miller said.

Miller says they hope to start building this summer. To find out if you qualify for the new affordable homes call 782-8579 or 782-8145
