There's just two weeks remaining to get your hunting tags for wolves and so far the state has sold over 3,000 permits.

Despite opposition from groups who have tried to stop the hunt, it appears its still going forward and at the Kalispell Fish Wildlife and Parks Office, spokesperson John Fraley says the response has been pretty positive.

"Well, I think people are really excited about having a wolf hunt because it's just shows that Montana can manage the wolf and we'll have it in our management. That's a good thing. So far about 3,500 licenses have been sold in the first seven or eight days of the sales of wolf tags. So, that's looking good."

Fraley added the deadline for the first round of wolf tags is September 2nd and while tags can be purchased after that date, there will be a waiting period before you can hunt.
