Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard with your STORMTracker weather forecast for Monday Evening.

We be a lucky bunch I tel ya. The wedder couldent bee more lovely! Enough of the Irish verbiage. Strong high pressure currently over the western US extending up into Southern Canada is producing a dry weather pattern and with a surface flow out of the S-SW and is driving our highs toward the 50's and a few lucky locals into the 60's today and Tuesday.

As I first reported several weeks ago a warm up was anticipated this week, however, I also said watch out for a possible storm system late Wednesday afternoon. That forecast still holds today!

A new upper level trough will swing into the pacific NW tomorrow and catch up to Western Montana by Wednesday morning and head into Eastern Montana by Thursday morning. This upper level trough will push considerable cloudiness into SW Montana Tuesday night into Wednesday morning but only limited moisture is anticipated (Lucky). The flow will continue to be strong out of the SW on Wednesday so look for above normal temperatures to continue. Now with mostly cloudy skies and a warm SW flow temperatures Wednesday morning should only drop off to freezing and by paraded time in Butte at 11am could be in the lower to mid 40's. Mild and cloudy for the parade with a 20% chance for a few passing showers.

Temperatures will drop below normal as early as Thursday and stay cool into Friday. Highs for Butte for example will only hit the lower 30's.

Temperatures should quickly rise into the weekend back to near normal levels in the mid to upper 40's.
