Man threatening suicide leads to standoff in Gallatin County

A man was taken into custody Thursday night after a standoff with police.

Frontage Road was closed down for about two hours while sheriff's negotiators spoke with the man. He was taken into custody for evaluation without incident.

A man was reportedly threatening to kill himself and armed with a gun.

Gallatin County Sheriff's Department responded to Frontage and Weaver roads between Belgrade and Manhattan around 7 p.m.
Law enforcement shut down roads around the area, worried about crossfire if the man did start shooting.

Montana Highway Patrol, Bozeman police, a SWAT team and negotiators responded.
